The Cannt-fessions aren’t a navel gazing exercise. They’re not about embarrassing stories of bad ad-making. They’re a rye look by some of the industry’s best at stuff which has gone radically off the rails somewhere. The biggest backfiring pitch, or the thing which has been miss-construed or miss-appropriated the most. The biggest lie they’ve ever had had to tell a client looking in their eyes in order for them to buy something. Perhaps it’s the personal reason behind an idea (‘what the ad is really about is me telling my brother that he’s a twat’). Maybe it’s the largest budget ever spent on just having a good time and shooting nothing. Perhaps it’s the story of a single train crash campaign and how it got there… Remorselessly chugging towards disaster and being powerless or reluctant to put the brakes on.
