On Wednesday night the Campaign BIG Awards were announced. Unfortunately I missed out as I was in Madrid but as always I hear it was a big night and quite a few Socials were celebrating. Well done to Agency Republic, Dare, LMFM and Profero.
The big discussion next week though is undoubtedly going to be that the ‘BIG’ prizes of Gold were both awarded to traditional agencies, BMB for the iPint and BBH for Lnyx Mobile (it seems that traditional agencies get mobile better than the web). There is no doubt that these were deserved winners and I know that we are all bored about the traditional vs digital debate. The truth is that we should celebrate that fact that the traditional agencies are winning awards as it continues to raise the profile of digital creativity and the more enlightened clients will go to those agencies who can do it better and, for now, they remain the digital specialists. That’s why 60% of the finalists are specialist agencies.
